GT-Air II Design Concept. Released in 2013, as SHOEI's premium touring full-face helmet with an internal sun shield, the original SHOEI GT-Air established this type of helmet as a functional and stylish alternative appreciated by many riders, owing to its convenience and aggressive, refined design. SHOEI has now released the all-new GT-Air II, a helmet that evolves the GT-Air's functionality, performance, and design primarily for touring use to a new, higher level of experience. The SHOEI GT-Air II integrates the optional SENA SRL 2 Bluetooth communication system seamlessly into the concept of this helmet. The GT-Air II is also equipped with a CNS-1 face shield and baseplate system; allowing the face shield to open slightly more in its "cracked open" position to reduce fogging of the shield at low speed. The GT-Air II also uses an all-new extended QSV-2 inner sun shield for improved coverage of the rider's face in bright sunny conditions. Inheriting the functionality, performance, and design of the GT-Air, the GT-Air II further enhances the performance of the internal sun shield, full-face helmet. Features: Aerodynamic Shell Design: Aerodynamic properties are maximized through extensive wind-tunnel testing and professional riders' feedback. Multi-piece, multi-density EPS liner enhances impact absorption and ventilation. Three shell and four EPS liner sizes provide increased fit options that help to comfortably fit most head sizes. Shell integrated spoiler reduces drag and lift, as well as reduces fatigue to rider's neck while riding at high speed. Sun Shield System: Built-in QSV-2 sun shield gives riders instant relief from sun glare in one quick motion. Sun shield meets ANSI Z80.3-2010 standard for non-prescription eyeglasses. Large and easy-to-reach switch activates the 3D injection-molded inner sun shield. Distortion-free shield blocks 99% of harmful UV rays. New locking mechanism holds the visor firmly in place in the down position for easier removal / installation. Ventilation System: Redesigned upper air intake shutter draws in more fresh, cooling air. Enlarged lower air intake opening allows greater airflow into the chin bar area. Large lower and upper vent shutters for ease of use with riding gloves. Three (3) intake and six (6) exhaust vents. Wind-tunnel optimized to maximize airflow and improve negative air pressure exhaust suction. Multi-Ply Matrix AIM Shell: Proprietary technology integrates a multi-ply matrix specifically designed to meet DOT standards. Hand-laid interwoven layers of fiberglass with organic fibers and resin. Shell-integrated spoiler with consistent shell thickness ensures proper strength and weight. 3-D Max Dry Interior System: Fully removable, washable, replaceable, and adjustable. Exclusive Max-Dry material absorbs and dissipates sweat two times faster than traditional nylon. Three-dimensionally shaped to match the contours of a rider's head. Multi-layer cheek pads for improved comfort and helmet stabilization. Optional interior components available in different sizes for a customizable fit.
